Roller Coasters

Art refers to a diverse range of human activities, creations, and expressions that are appealing to the senses or emotions of a human individual.

This is what I chose for my art presentation. I think that rollercoaster's are a form of art. First off every rollercoaster has it's own unique design. They either have little hills or steep hills and they can curves or several loops. Rollercoaster's are rideable sculptures that are erected out of either steel or wood. I personally prefer steel rollercoaster because they din't creek as much. There is also a lot of thought process that goes into evolving a roller coaster. First there is the brainstorming part where the architect decides on who the ride in intended for and the size of the location. For instance a rollercoaster for little kids shouldn't have a many if any loops and will be smaller in design. Once the rollercoaster is brainstormed they move into the outline phase where they draw it up on a computer software program to determine the features of the ride. Then they create the prototype to make sure that the rollercoaster is feasible and safe. Then comes the final piece which is considered the masterpiece or resolution.

This Past Week

Does it every seem like nothing goes right and that everything happens all at once? That is how my past week was. First of all I got Bronchittis and was not feeling well at all last week. So Wednesday I was relaxed and thought that I would have Thursday to rest and get better. Needless to say that never happened. I got a phone call around 7 pm from my sister saying that our step father had a heart attack and that he was being admitted into Potsdam Hospital and shipped out to Syracuse either Thursday or Friday. So I went up to Potsdam later that evening to see him and my mom to see how they were. Then Thursday afternoon he was shipped via ambulance down to Syracuse. My sister, the three kids, and I drove down to be there for support and to make sure that he was ok. Friday afternoon he seemed to be doing better so he got to come home with several prescriptions. However, Friday morning before 9am I received a phone call from Robbie's grandmother saying that her brother just passed away. We knew it was coming but it is still hard to know that it actually happened. He had been battling cancer since a few days before Easter this past year. So that is how my week has been.

Stop loss

It's very rare that I watch a movie but Friday night I just wanted to relax so I ordered a movie off form the pay per view. I was flipping through the options when there was a preview from the movie Stop Loss that caught my eye. I decided then to order it not really now what it was about. It was a great movie. It was about an army sergant who was done with his term and was going to get out and got stop lossed. Stop loss is when the military refuses to let one leave and sends them on another tour into the war. It showed the effects that the war had on his and other soldiers mental states. It was a very touching movie.

Grandma

So Monday I finally got to meet my boyfriend's grandmother. He hadn't seen her in five years either. It was a great reunion but was it a very short visit. She flew into Syracuse Monday night at six and flew out Friday at four. We did some shopping in Syracuse and enjoyed some time at Chuck E Cheese. But between me having school and my boyfriend having to work we weren't able to do much. She was just happy getting to see everybody. We were all upset that she had to go back so soon.

Chuck E Cheese

Robbie just loves to go to Chuck E Cheese so Monday when we got to Syracuse we took him while we waited to pick up my boyfriend's grandma from the airport. It was the perfect amount of people and kids in there not too many but enough for him to find a friend. I'm not sure who has more fun though. Rob and I play the games while Robbie runs around singing and dancing and climbing through the overhead tunnels. Rob gets competitive so his goal now is to beat the high scores on a couple of the games like the basketball game. Rob came close but never did beat the score this time. But we all had a good time.

EXCITED

Well Monday afternoon I get to meet my boyfriends grandmother for the first time. We are driving to Syracuse to pick her up from the airport. It's going to be a great day for everybody because this will also be the first time that she will meet the little guy whom is 4 1/2 years old. My boyfriend hasn't seen her in five years. She is flying in from Jacksonville, Florida. Well I am really excited about this bye for now.

BLOGGING

Is it just me or does anyone else have a hard time doing blogs? My problem is I'm not very creative yet and my words never seem to fit together right. Also I never can think of any thing to write. Well if anyone has any suggestions on how I can become a better blogger please let me know. I am open for suggestions. Thanks.

Head Start

So Tuesday I brought the little guy to the doctors for his physical for Head Start. Once we get into room they inform me that he needs three vaccinations. As he is autistic that can be a touchy subject since they don't know what the cause is, so I inform them that I needed to call his father for permission. So he receives all three shots then we are off to the hospital for blood work for his lead and anemia screenings. I just couldn't believe everything was needed to get him into this school. Well Thursday I went to the doctor's th check the results of his lab work and they inform me that the red swelling on his right arm is a local reaction from the vaccine. What a week good thing he is cooperative.

School

Well after being out of school for five years I have decided to return. I was laid off from Corning last September due to a reduction in the work force and the likelyness of being called back are slim to none. It has been rough trying to readjust back into the whole school scene. Well I look forward to learning how to become a creative writer as well as getting to know everyone.

Autism

Why me? What did I do to deserve this extra obstacle to face in life? Why hasn't anyone been able to find a cure or better yet find out why so many of us are plagued with this disorder? Am I ever going to find the neccesary skills to be able to communicate efficiently with my peers?
